Shams are animals found on the planet Phaënon. They are used as mounts by the Kamijis and the Azkeels. In Omikron, they are processed into Sham steaks.
Before anyone can mount a Sham, trust must be built between the rider and the Sham in question. Riding Catacomb Shams is next to impossible for humans, because the Shams there aren't familiar with human forms.
